The student scholarship was established by Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Xi Psi Chapter-at-Large, to assist students in financial need.  Each school is allocated five hundred dollars ($500.00) each semester (excluding summer) to extend two (2) two hundred and fifty dollar (250.00) scholarships.  A total of six (6) two hundred and fifty dollar ($250.00) scholarships will be award each semester.  Students from Dillard University, Loyola University and Our Lady of Holy Cross College may apply each semester.  The following procedure is recommended: 

Procedure:

• The school of nursing will determine a time in which applications are being accepted. 
• Each school of nursing will identify a cadre of students from the junior and senior classes.   
• Students will apply directly to each school and the faculty will review all applications.
• The students must meet possess a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be in the top 35% of their class. 
• Each school of nursing will submit the recommendations of two nominees to be considered for the scholarship award.
• The Xi Psi Chapter-at-Large Board of Directors will notify the school of their final decision.
